Description
In this project, the construction of a vacuum oven is considered according to its use in drying materials sensitive to high temperatures under vacuum pressure. These ovens must be designed to withstand vacuum pressure. They should not have any leaks. Commercial samples of this product with different volumes (16, 25, 40, etc.) are available in the market. However, due to the high price of this product in the market. this device has been made in cooperation between the Faculty of Petroleum and Petrochemistry of Hakim Sabzevari University and Abadan Oil Refining Company. One of the advantages of this plan is its high economic efficiency.
Making Oven Under Vacuum
Two major issues must be considered in the design and construction of this tank. First, due to the low operating pressure (less than 1 bar), a tank should be used. which has the ability to resist crumpling in this operating pressure. The second point is that the tested samples are sensitive to high temperature for drying. which should use the appropriate heating system according to its control to prevent sudden increase in temperature. The overview of the device is shown in the photo below. This device includes a tank, a screw-on flanged door, copper pipes around the tank and base.
To make this tank, gas capsules under pressure, which are used to charge the gas of air conditioners and refrigerators, have been used. which can withstand a pressure equal to 18 to 23 bar has been used. In the photos below, we can see the view of this capsule and the construction steps of the tank
