Description
With the expansion of urbanization in recent decades and people need for gas for heating, cooking, etc., its transmission became one of the important concerns of mankind. Gas transmission lines play a very important and practical role in today’s cities. Failure to know this system correctly and due to the ability of gas to work, may cause severe irreparable damages.
National Gas Transmission Lines
Iran Gas Trunk-Line (IGT: Iran Gas Trunk-Line) refers to all high-diameter gas transmission pipelines. which are all over the country. And they continue from the natural gas refinery to the gas pressure drop station at the beginning of the cities for distribution to the consumer.
These pipes, which are made of polyethylene, supply gas to the whole country. From gas used in homes to gas pumps.
Gas lines all over the country consist of different branches. And they are used for different tasks. For example, the pipeline that goes to gas stations entering cities to supply gas to houses does not go to gas pumps.
In terms of sub-branches, we have ten national pipelines in the country, which have different lengths, diameters and efficiency. For example, the first nationwide pipeline has a diameter of 42 inches and starts from Bidbland Gas Refinery and goes to Astara. If the second national pipeline has a diameter of 56 inches and starts from Kangan Refinery and continues to Qazvin city.
Some of these lines are also for transferring the country gas to other countries such as Kazakhstan, which were built for the purpose of exporting the country gas. The phases of South Pars that go to the north of the country are also one of these gas lines.
Simulation of Gas Transmission Lines
In this project, gas transmission lines are simulated in Aspen Hysys software.
