Simulation of Dew Point Control Unit with Aspen Hysys

Description

Dew point is the temperature at which the air is saturated with water vapor. Dew point and its presence detection have many applications in air conditioning science, facilities and meteorology. When air reaches the dew point temperature at a certain pressure, the rate of evaporation of liquid water and the rate of condensation of water vapor are equal to each other. A very important point to note is that at temperatures below the dew point, liquid water begins to settle on solid surfaces. This solid surface can be a leaf of a tree. In this project, we will simulate the dew point control unit.

In general, it can be said that if we reduce the air temperature without changing its humidity and pressure. At a certain temperature, tiny water droplets start to form. This temperature is called the dew point temperature. In any process, if we want to prevent the condensation of water vapor and the formation of liquid water droplets, the dew point must be measured and controlled.

For example, the importance of dew point temperature in compressed air and in industrial environments is not hidden from anyone. In some cases, dew point is important only because compressed air lines are exposed to cold air and freezing temperatures. Where the high dew point temperature can cause freezing and thus blocking the pipes.

Dew Point Control Unit Simulation

Dew point control is one of the most important gas processes. It is necessary to use this process so that in the different climates where the pipeline passes and the extreme weather changes that the gas pipeline experiences along its route, the phenomenon of condensation does not occur and the system does not become two-phase. Biphasing of the system causes many problems in the pipeline. In this project, the dew point control process is simulated in Aspen Hysys software.
