مهر ۵, ۱۴۰۳Propane purification unit
The purpose of this unit is to remove mercaptans and water from propane. Input feed includes:
Sour propane from unit 107
and products Dry propane going to unit 147
Caustic solution with mercaptan, which is directed to unit 113 for regeneration.
In this unit, sulfur compounds, especially mercaptans and water present in the stream of propane sour gas exported from unit 107 are removed. Based on the design, caustic soda solution with a concentration of 15-20% is used to purify sour propane.
After absorbing mercaptans, the soda solution is purified and recovered again in unit 113 and enters the cycle. After drying, sweetened propane is sent to unit 147 for storage.
Separation of mercaptans from propane
To separate mercaptans from propane, extraction process is used in the first stage, and in a tower called Extractor, it is put in contact with caustic solution in counter flow and mass transfer. Caustic enters from the top of tray 15 and propane from the bottom of the tower.
After separation of mercaptans, propane is removed from the top of the tower and washed in caustic form in a settler. After filtering, it enters the dryer, and after drying and dewatering in the dryers, it is filtered again and sent to unit 147 for storage.
If the propane product of the unit is not of suitable, it is sent to unit 106 through a pump and joins the national gas line. Propane is used to recover dryers. In this way, some propane enters the furnace and after heating up to C280, it is used to dry the molecular particles. Also, due to the presence of COS along with propane in this unit, more than 90% of these compounds are separated from the gas in the tower, but to separate the remaining 10% of COS, we use a finishing drum with 7% caustic.
