Description
Diethanolamine with the usual chemical formula C2H7NO is denoted by the abbreviation DEA. It is an organic chemical compound consisting of a secondary amine and a double alcohol. This double alcohol has two hydroxyl groups and like other amines, diethanolamine also acts as a weak base. The use of DEA and its other derivatives, which are used to create foams and textures such as creams, is common in the production of health and cosmetic products.
Other derivatives of diethanolamine are: Loramide diethanolamine, coco diethanolamine, cocoamide diethanolamine or coconut oil from diethanolamine, Loramide DEAleric diethanolamide and laurel diethanolamide. The family of ethanolamines includes monoethanolamine, diethanolamine and triethanolamine, which have a wide range of applications.
Production of Diethanolamine
DEA is one of the derivatives of ethanolamine and it is produced in the process of its production and it is also produced simultaneously in the form of monoethanolamine and triethanolamine series.
There are different processes to produce this product, all of which share the reaction of ethylene oxide and ammonia to produce ethanolamine. Ethyl oxide, ammonia and water react in plug flow reactor. And after absorbing ammonia in four distillation towers, 85% and 99% monoethanolamine, diethanolamine and triethanolamine are separated.
In this project, the production process of diethanolamine has been simulated in Aspen Hysys software and its economic analysis has been done. The project has a full report (in pdf format only). To buy the project or get more information about it, proceed through the link below.
